What is RSS?
Really Simple Syndication (RSS), is one acronym for RSS, is a lightweight XML format designed for sharing headlines and other Web content and syndicating news and the content of news-like sites. Origins from UserLand in 1997 and subsequently used by Netscape 1999, RSS has evolved into a popular means of sharing content between sites eg blogs. In fact pretty much anything that can be broken down into discrete items can be syndicated via RSS.
