If you have ever needed to get OR change (update) your office document properties then here is an Addin that will do this for you (See images below)
The Addin was translated and amended from VB code found here @ Microsoft
Before you can use this addin you will need the Dsofile.exe file available from the above site. For you convenience the above sites page should be viewable below.

This ActiveX component lets You Edit Office Document Properties from Visual Basic. Please follow the instructions on how to install and register the ActiveX control.
Dsofile.exe is a self-extracting executable that provides a simple in-process ActiveX component for programmers to use in order to read and modify the Document Summary Properties for an OLE Structured Storage file such as native Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, and Word documents without using Automation to Microsoft Office. The component can also work on non-OLE documents when it is run on Windows 2000 with an NTFS file system.

Note: There is also a property to determine if the document has macros, although this does not work for Powerpoint. You could use this control to determine if a document has macros or not.
